Dear Karel & Kimberly,

If you are getting this Walk-O-Rama email it's because you have supported the Lindy Scholar Walk for the Animals in some way in recent years.  Thank you!  The weekly Walk-O-Rama newsletter will keep you up to date with Walk announcements, highlight some easy ways you can help make the Walk successful, and profile some of the people and Packs involved this year.  You can get Walk-O-Rama Vol. I by clicking here. You can get Vol. II by clicking here.
Internet Pledges Exceed Last Year!
With two weeks to go until the Walk, the HSBC's FirstGiving Internet fundraising page has already surpassed last year's donations!  Web fundraising has been a key to the Walk's recent success.  Personalized FirstGiving pages allow Walkers to create a custom page with a picture of their choice to explain why they are walking and why the HSBC's mission is important to them.  It also allows Walkers to accept credit card donations from anyone with web access.  Thanks to FirstGiving, we've received pledges from as far as Hawaii (see below)!  Plus, all donors are sure to get a donor acknowledgement so they know that their pledge went to good use!

Top Ten Pack Ranking!
Fast & FurriestWill anyone be able to kick last year's Pack mega-winners, The Fast & The Furriest (shown), from their throne?  It's hard to say but this year they will face some real competition!  With just two weeks to go, we have the top ten Pack rankings (based solely on FirstGiving fundraising): 1.  HSBC Staff & Friends, 2. Heidelberg Hounds, 3. The Rockin' Rescuers, 4. Lucky Dogs, 5. Berks (Barks) for Obama, 6 The B Dogs, 7. The Fast & The Furriest, 8. ditchy-do, 9. Rita's Radiology Rovers, 10. Roberts Canines.

Remember these ranking are only based on Internet fundraising so the real standings may be very different.  We have it on good authority that some Packs are holding back to make a big splash at the Walk!

Whatever approach the Packs are taking (some are approaching business contacts for tier company's Pack, some are going for total numbers- one pack has over 40 Walkers!, some are using employer matches for donations), all are in the race to win and to help raise vitally needed funds for the animals!
50 State Challenge- Six New States!
globeA big thank you to all the Walkers who took up our 50 State Challenge!  Since last week we have added six new States to our list: CT, HI (yes, Hawaii!), KS, TN, WA & WV.  These joined the donors from the other twenty states that already pledged in support of the Walk this year.  The states include AL, AZ, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, TX and VA!  Help us make the Walk a truly national affair!  The HSBC will be giving a special recognition award for the Walker with the most pledging States!

Ask those you who have already supported you to support you again by forwarding the link to your fundraising web page to people they know around the country.  A FirstGiving.com fundraising page (see Quick Link at left) makes it easy to ask friends and family from around the country to donate securely.  Visit our Google Pledge map by clicking here.  And we still don't have any international donors...
Remember, the Walk is about more than just having fun- it's about helping save thousands of lives each year.  Please help us to help the animals by registering yourself and your friends, raising sponsorship funds, and by forwarding this email to lots and lots of people!  Thanks!

See you at the Walk!
