Reader's Request Double Header!
"Stories of injured animals helped/More adoptable pets"
A very special animal will help us with two reader
requests at once! Abby recently underwent rear leg
amputation surgery due to an injury. Abby's surgery,
treatment, and recovery foster care was provided by
one of the HSBC's fantastic volunteer veterinarians,
Dr. Heather Westfall. After lots of time and loving care,
Abby is ready for a new forever home.
Says Dr. Westfall: "She's housetrained, knows sit,
knows her name, getting around great on her 3 legs,
running now! So I think she is ready for a home of her
own. Abby is okay with other dogs, is very affectionate
to people - I think she is a bit jealous, and might be
better off in a single dog household, she deserves
alot of attention. About 35 pounds, she wants to be a
lap dog, but will curl up at your feet happily. Has some
funny little tricks she does, she "talks" to us- she's a
goodie. I hate to let her go, but I promised to get her
better and find her a place, so I can help others as
they come along."
Interested adopters should contact Damon March,
HSBC Operations Director, directly at 610-921-2348,
ext. 18 or at dmarch@berkshumane.org. Abby needs
the perfect home and her adoption process will be a
rigorous and deliberative one. Please be prepared to
be patient and to go through a few extra steps with
Abby's adoption
