Lindy Scholar Society

Lindy ScholarThe Humane Society of Berks County has been serving animals and people in need for over one hundred years. The need for our services will be here for untold years to come. That’s why the HSBC plans ahead, to ensure that we will always be here to help those who need us: the lost, homeless, injured, abused animals who have nowhere else to turn. Part of our mission is to make sure that we have the ability and resources to help today, tomorrow, and in years to come. Because we are a private, non-profit, and non-governmental organization, receiving no funds from national animal welfare organizations, we can only accomplish this mission through the support of donors. Remembering non-profit organizations in your will or estate planning can mean a lot to both the organization and to you. Joining the Lindy Scholar Legacy Society is one of the ways that you can join us in our effort to improve the lives of animals. Named for Lindy Scholar, the HSBC’s dedicated executive director of seventeen years until her untimely death in 2004, the Legacy Society provides an opportunity for those who have loved animals all their lives to make a lasting impact, even after their passing. Your gift can enable us to find homes for more animals, protect more animals from injury, educate more children in humane ethics, and rescue more animals from neglect. Additionally, estate gifts can have very real tax benefits to you now.

It’s also a wonderful way for the HSBC to recognize your dedication and offer our thanks now, to plan ahead for the Humane Society’s future, and to share with you the wonderful work you will be helping to make possible today. You can make it possible for the Humane Society of Berks County to plan ahead for the next one hundred years and beyond. We’re working hard to ensure that our legacy will be a humane one. We hope you’ll join us in that legacy.
