Veterinary Hospitals

Great Vets. Great Care. For A Great Cause.

The Veterinary Hospitals of the Humane Society of Berks County are now accepting new patients!  New and past adopters and the general public are welcome.  If you are going to be spending money on your pet's healthcare, why not do it somewhere that will use those resources to help homeless, injured and abused pets?

Our talented and smiling staff will be here to help you and your pets with the best care and treatment.  Whether it's the new Reading HSBC Veterinary Hospital facility will featuring separate veterinary client entrance and waiting areas and cutting edge treatment such as acupuncture, or the brand new Holly Miller Adoption and Veterinary Wellness Center in Douglassville (click here for a peek), you'll get great care.  Plus, we offer convenient evening and weekend schedules to fit your busy schedule.

New clients and patients are being accepted now!  Check back as we regularly these pages with all of the great new things that are happening and great pet care tips!

It's just one more way that the the Humane Society of Berks County is showing that it is a very different Humane Society.

Low Cost Vaccination and Microchipping clinics are held each Friday at the Lindy Scholar Center in Reading from 9am-noon. The following fees apply only to the low-cost clinics:

Microchip Implantation: $10

Rabies Vaccination: $20

Distemper Combination Vaccination: $20

Deworming: $15

Dog Owners: Microchip implantation is required for dogs to receive services at our low-cost clinics. We require this because our statistics show that a microchip is the surest way to identify your animal and prevent him from staying in a shelter. If your dog already has a microchip, this service is not required. A 2010 Berks County Dog License is also required for each dog. If you have the license, please remember to bring the paper with your information. If you do not have a dog license, you may license your dog at the Humane Society of Berks County.

Can't make it to our Veterinary Hospitals?

The HSBC Vetmobile can come to you!

The Vetmobile is a mobile veterinary wellness and adoption center serving Southeastern Pennsylvania.  Many pet owners in our area lack the means to bring their animals to one of our two hospitals for routine treatment, so we devised a means to get that treatment to them.

The VetMobile's mission is to provide basic wellness care and vaccinations on a regular, rotating basis - kind of like a Bookmobile.  Would you like to see the VetMobile make regular trips to your neighborhood?  Please contact Dylan Heckart at dheckart@berkshumane.org for more information.
